PADANG-JAYA NEWS.COM – SatuPena West Sumatra and the Sumbar Talenta Indonesia Foundation (YSTI) will hold the 4th Minangkabau International Literacy Festival (IMLF) from June 3-7, 2026, in Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra Province, to celebrate the centenary of the Jam Gadang Clock.
This was stated by Sastri Bakry, President of the IMLF Committee in Padang City, on Thursday (December 25, 2025).
He said the festival builds on the success of previous festivals, which attracted participants from 12 countries in 2023, 17 countries in 2024, and 24 countries in 2025.
“We are pleased to continue the tradition of promoting literacy and cultural exchange,” he said.
The festival will bring together writers, thinkers, literary figures, researchers, artists, activists, performers, and students from around the world.
“To share and discuss the latest trends and developments in literacy, the creative economy, literature, and culture,” he added.
The festival’s theme is the 100th anniversary of the Jam Gadang Clock: “From Literacy to Sustainability: Building Wealth, Peace, and Sustainable Learning.”
The event will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, as well as various activities such as seminars, art performances, poetry readings, cultural economic discussions, exhibitions, and book launches.
“We expect over 200 participants from 30 countries, making it an excellent opportunity for you to showcase and connect with other world-class individuals in your field,” he concluded.
