TERENGGANU STONE LETTERS USING BANJAR LANGUAGE NOT MALAY
By: Hamly Hadi
(Historical Observer)
So far, Batu Bersurat Terengganu has been claimed to use the Malay language, by changing the script to use the letters E and O.
Banjar language, if you change the letters a to e and u to O, does look like Malay, but they forget that Malay only inherits 81% of the Banjar language vocabulary, there is some Banjar language vocabulary that Malay does not have, one of which is the word “HINGGAN”.
This time I will make a script change according to the Arabic script which does not use the letters E and O according to the actual way of reading the Arabic script.
Terengganu Script Translation of Stone, Side B:
Family in Javanese ……..kan……ul
Come and give me the gift of the debt
Don’t take the money (a) and lose the money
Kalima Darma Barang Urang ……………jaka
Don’t take the money for ……..t the money
Jaka he took and lost the money. Ka anam Darma Barang
Urang barbuat balacara pria parawanita satitah
Diwata Mulia Raya jaka mardika bujang palu
saratus rautan. Jaka mardika baristri
or parawanita barsuawaan barsuawa buried up to the waist in Hambalang with a stone to kill
Jaka ingkir balacara Hambalang jaka anak mandalika.***
