LSTEAMS, Al-Zaytun’s Educational Foundation, Ready for Implementation

INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – Tuesday afternoon, December 23, 2025, the Teachers’ Council meeting room in the Abu Bakar Building of Ma’had Al-Zaytun became the starting point for a major undertaking. For an hour and a half, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, the Teachers’ Council and the Student Dormitory Control Council (MPAP) sat together in a meaningful coordination meeting. This was not a routine meeting, but rather the first step in shaping the future of Al-Zaytun’s curriculum.

During the meeting, educators discussed the formation of a drafting team from each educational unit and institution. The discussion then focused on developing an outline for mapping subjects, courses, activities, and educators related to the implementation of LSTEAMS (Law, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics, and Spirituality). Each element was carefully mapped: Law with its themes and legal educators, Science with its scientific approach, Technology and Engineering with its innovation orientation, Art with its creativity and sensitivity, Mathematics with its logical order, and Spirituality as the core of values.

This initial formulation was not prepared to remain at the meeting table. It will be the subject of further consultation and dialogue with Sheikh Al-Zaytun, scheduled for next Thursday, to ensure the broad vision and technical details meet.

This coordination meeting is a direct follow-up to Sheikh Al-Zaytun’s directive, AS Panji Gumilang, delivered during his Dhikr sermon on Friday, December 19, 2025. From the pulpit of the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Mosque, the Sheikh urged all heads of educational units, from early childhood education (PAUD) to higher education, equivalent education (PKBM) Al-Zaytun, dormitories, and the Sports and Arts Committee of Ma’had Al-Zaytun (Kosmaz), to immediately develop a concept for implementing LSTEAMS tailored to their respective characteristics.

To coordinate this major endeavor, the Sheikh assigned the Chair of the Teachers’ Council, Drs. Purnomo, M.Pd., and the Chair of the Al-Zaytun Student Dormitory Control Council (MPAP), Dr. Ali Aminulloh, M.Pd.I., ME. This assignment emphasized that curriculum change at Al-Zaytun is built through collective leadership and collaborative work.

Ultimately, LSTEAMS is projected to become the soul of Al-Zaytun’s education, present in formal classroom education, non-formal fieldwork and extracurricular activities, and informal dormitory life. All are directed toward one goal: to build true freedom: freedom of thought, freedom of spirit, and freedom of knowledge, while instilling philosophical, ecological, and social awareness. From the meeting room to the pulpit of dhikr, Al-Zaytun is steadfast in its commitment to instilling awareness and fostering humanity through education.**
