Poem:
Sleeping Ethos
By: Suwandi

Good morning!
A dissonant cry greets the day.
As if today will be yours.
While sipping a cup of coffee.
Postponing work, lulling yourself to sleep.
When the world is full of demands.
The world of work often loses to excuses.
Many chase recognition.
But are allergic to sacrifice.
Time is shrouded in complaints.
Even God is blamed.
Because fate never changes.
Justice slips past sight.
Never stopping by even for a moment.
Productivity is slowly declining.
Not due to a lack of opportunities or chances.
But laziness has become a habit.
Studying is seen as a waste of funds.
Everyone wants to be appreciated and noticed.
Few take responsibility and do the work.
Hard work is seen as pressure.
Discipline is labeled old-fashioned and oppressive.
A nation does not collapse due to lack.
But rather by the abandoned ethos.
If sweat is revered,
progress doesn’t need to be shouted about.
It will come as a reality.
Let’s cultivate awareness together.
Awaken the work ethic from negligence.
No longer sleep in dreams.
Because life is reality.
