JAKARTA-JAYA NEWS.COM – Seasons of Grace, the latest exhibition by Indonesian artist Oliver Wihardja, opens at the Mezzanine of Jakarta Cathedral from November 29, 2025, to January 4, 2026.

The exhibition features 17 paintings reflecting on the themes of faith, creation, and the presence of divine grace throughout the liturgical year.

Spiritual Reflection Calendar

Filling the left wing of the mezzanine, the exhibition presents 14 paintings selected as official works for the 2026 Jakarta Cathedral Calendar.

Each painting was chosen for its specific message that aligns with the month it represents, inviting the congregation to enter a season of prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth.

One of the works on display specifically illustrates the church’s fifth social teaching, the Archdiocese of Jakarta’s 2026 Basic Direction: The Integrity of Creation—a call to ecological conversion, environmental preservation, and a commitment to healing the damage caused to nature by humans.

Nativity Collection in the Central Mezzanine

In the central mezzanine, visitors can see three paintings depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.

These works are displayed alongside the Cathedral’s Nativity figures, a historic collection as old as the cathedral itself (built in 1901).

Together, the paintings and sculptures create a contemplative space that celebrates the mystery of the Incarnation.
