The residents of Eretan Wetan, Kandang Haur District, Indramayu Regency, West Java, a coastal village prone to tidal flooding, took to the streets again today to demand accelerated mitigation of the tidal flooding that has become a serious threat to local residents. The peaceful demonstration was attended by hundreds of residents, including community leaders and environmental activists, on Friday, November 7, 2025.

According to a statement from one of the residents, tidal floods have caused severe damage to homes and village infrastructure, as well as disrupted economic and educational activities.

“We have been asking the government for years to help address this problem, but there has been no concrete action,” he said.
