INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – The Indramayu Regency Government, through the Library and Archives Office, is holding the Indramayu Literacy Festival 2025 from October 21–28, 2025, at the Indramayu Regency Library and Archives Office on Jl. This event is supported by literacy activists in Indramayu, such as Bunda Literasi (Literacy Mothers), Penggerak Literacy (Literacy Activists), Forum Literacy (Literacy Forum), Forum TBM (Literacy Community Library), School Libraries, Gramedia, and others.
This event carries the spirit of “Optimizing the Literacy Ecosystem and Showing Public Appreciation,” featuring a variety of activities, including: a literacy exhibition from University Libraries, School Libraries, Village Libraries, S16 Libraries, a book bazaar, an MSME product exhibition, book reviews, talk shows, a literary and arts stage, and the launch of the One Library Data application as an innovation for digitizing literacy services.
In his remarks, the Head of the Indramayu Regency Library and Archives Office, Dr. Ahmad Sudalim Gymnasthiar, M.Pd., stated that digitizing library data is a strategic step in improving the quality of public services. “Supporting digitalization in a single library data management system will have a strong impact on improving library and archive services in Indramayu,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Indramayu Literacy Mother, Hj. Idah Nuryani, S.E., emphasized that increasing literacy awareness has a significant impact on shaping the character of the next generation. “Literacy awareness will have a strong influence on a generation that is strong, intelligent, and ready to face the challenges of the times,” she said.

Echoing this sentiment, Drs. Aan Hendrajana Muljadi, M.Si., Assistant for General Administration at the Indramayu Regency Regional Secretariat, added that reading must be done comprehensively to properly understand the meaning of information. “The Indramayu Literacy Festival is an important opportunity to raise awareness among the next generation that reading information must be comprehensive, to avoid misinterpretation,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Khoeri, M.Pd., a Community Literacy Volunteer (Relima) in Indramayu, expressed his appreciation for the growing growth of literacy activities across various levels of society. “We are pleased with the growing number of literacy events that promote good habits based on appropriate reading,” he said.
Active participation also came from the S16 Library, which displayed a literacy exhibition and products from its fostered MSMEs. Tarkidin, a member of the S16 Community Literacy Center (Pusmolis), emphasized that their involvement was a concrete form of support for the festival’s success. “Participation in the Pusmolis S16 exhibition and the MSME products is part of our efforts to contribute to the success of the Indramayu Literacy Festival, making it even more lively and memorable,” he said.
Through this activity, the Indramayu Regency Government hopes that the 2025 Literacy Festival can become a forum for appreciation, inspiration, and collaboration in building an intelligent, prosperous, and dignified Indramayu community by strengthening a culture of literacy.
