Qur’an Recitation for Inmates Creates a Serene Atmosphere at Pasir Pangaraian Prison
PASIR PANGARAIAN-JAYA NEWS.COM – A serene atmosphere enveloped the Quran recitation for female inmates at the Pasir Pangaraian Class IIB Prison on Friday (October 3, 2025). The activity, led directly by an external religious teacher, took place at the At-Taubah Mosque in Pasir Pangaraian Prison. Inmates learned to read the Quran, starting with the introduction of the hijaiyah letters, correct pronunciation, and collective recitation of the holy verses.
The inmates enthusiastically participated in each session. The atmosphere became moving as the Quranic recitations were heard. Hopefully, this recitation will provide inmates with new opportunities for self-improvement.
The Head of Pasir Pangaraian Class IIB Prison, Efendi Parlindungan Purba, through the Head of the Education and Training Section, Sunu Istiqomah Danu, stated that this recitation activity is part of personality development. The hope is that inmates can strengthen their faith, fill their days behind bars with meaningful activities, and eventually return to society with a better spiritual foundation.
Through these activities, despite their limitations, their passion for learning and returning to God’s path remains blazing. This activity also aligns with the daily instructions of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections, the instructions of the Director General of Corrections, and the guidance of the Head of the Riau Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections.**
