ROKAN HULU-JAYA NEWS.COM – A warm and familial atmosphere was felt at the Rokan Hulu Regent’s Official Residence on Friday afternoon (September 26, 2025). Several traditional leaders, noble families, and tribal leaders from Luhak Rambah were present to visit the Rohul Regent, Anton, S.T., M.M. This meeting was part of a series of welcoming ceremonies for the grand coronation of the King of Luhak Rambah, which will be held soon.
In attendance was the Crown Prince of Luhak Rambah, Dr. H. Tengku Afrizal Dachlan, M.M., Sutan Zainal, accompanied by members of the royal family, including Tengku Tezzy D. Dachlan, Tengku Firman Rosyid, and Tengku Harun Arrasyid. Their presence was further enhanced by the presence of several traditional leaders, including the Head of the Luhak Rambah LKA, Yusrizal KD, and the Head of the Rambah District LAMR, Datuk Herman Harun, S.E., who holds the title of Paduko Majolelo.
In his remarks, Tengku Afrizal Dachlan, who also serves as Deputy Speaker of the Riau Islands Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from the Rohul Regent. He emphasized that the coronation of the King of Luhak Rambah is not merely a traditional ceremony, but an important milestone in reviving the spirit of togetherness among indigenous communities and strengthening cultural identity amidst the tide of modernization.
“We, as the descendants of the King of Rambah, hope for the support of all parties to ensure the preservation of customs and culture. This coronation of the King of Luhak Rambah is not only for the royal family, but also for the entire Luhak Rambah community as a shared heritage,” said Tengku Afrizal.
He emphasized that the preservation of customs and culture will not be successful without synergy between the local government, the Riau Malay Traditional Institution (LAMR), community leaders, and religious scholars. According to him, the coronation of the King serves as a space for consolidation to ensure the younger generation is not uprooted from their historical roots and ancestral traditions. Tengku Afrizal Dachlan also stated that, although there were some obstacles and problems, they could be resolved. The coronation ceremony will begin on the 7th with a joint prayer, followed by the culminating ceremony on the 8th. Hopefully, all the events will run smoothly.

Meanwhile, Rokan Hulu Regent Anton welcomed the arrival of the traditional leaders and royal families. He emphasized that the local government is committed to supporting any positive activities, especially those related to preserving cultural heritage.
“As long as it benefits the people of Luhak Rambah and the surrounding area, the Rohul Regency Government will certainly support it. The coronation of the King of Luhak Rambah not only strengthens tradition but also strengthens community unity and togetherness. This aligns with the slogan “Together Building the Nation,” said Regent Anton, who previously received an honorary traditional title from Luhak Rambah.
According to Anton, cultural preservation should not be viewed merely as a ceremony, but rather as part of building the character and identity of the Rohul people. He added that the local government is ready to collaborate with traditional institutions to make the coronation of the King a major event that will bring widespread benefits, including to the cultural tourism sector.
The gathering, which lasted more than an hour, served not only as a friendly gathering but also as a forum for discussion on cultural advancement. Traditional leaders and the local government agreed that tradition, religious scholars, and the government are three important pillars that must support each other in preserving Luhak Rambah.
Ahead of the major event of the coronation of the King, all parties were urged to prioritize unity, set aside differences, and prioritize common interests. Tradition and culture are the social glue that unites communities within a framework of togetherness.
The gathering concluded with a collective prayer and a moral message urging the Luhak Rambah community to always uphold traditional values as a legacy of the land of the previous leaders. With the upcoming King’s coronation, it is hoped that the spirit of togetherness, unity, and cultural preservation will be strengthened within the Rokan Hulu community.**
