Bangodua 1 State Junior High School Holds Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday Celebration: Building Literacy, Caring for Palestine, and Instilling the Value of Rahmatan Lil Alamin
INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM — A meaningful atmosphere filled the Special Maulid event held by Bangodua 1 State Junior High School on Thursday, September 4, 2025. With the theme “Prophet Muhammad is a Rahmatan Lil Alamin,” this event not only commemorated the Prophet’s Birthday but also served as a platform to build literacy awareness among students and the Indramayu community.
The event featured inspiring performances from Kampung Dongeng (Storytelling Village) artist Kak Rio and his puppet friend, Ollie, who enlivened the atmosphere with stories full of moral messages. Their presence was a unique attraction, fostering children’s interest in reading and a love of literacy.
Furthermore, the Bangodua 1 State Junior High School family also expressed their concern for others through donations to Palestine, channeled through BMH (Baitul Maal Hidayatullah). This spirit of sharing is a tangible manifestation of the values of social care taught in Islam.
Adding to the richness of the literacy activities, there was also a Reading Stall initiated by Ahmad Khoeri from the S16 Library and Relima Lokus Indramayu. This stall provided a space for students to interact directly with books, while broadening their horizons beyond the classroom.
The event was further enriched by a short sermon from Khoerul Umam, a Religious Counselor from the Bangodua District of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Indramayu, who emphasized the importance of emulating the morals of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in everyday life.
In his remarks, the Principal of SMP Negeri 1 Bangodua, Burhanudin, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation to all parties who supported this event. “This activity not only commemorates the Prophet’s birthday, but also serves as a momentum to strengthen literacy, expand empathy, and instill a spirit of togetherness,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Committee, Drs. Tahapi, S.Ag., emphasized that this event was born from the collaboration of all elements of the school and the community. “We hope this activity will produce a young generation that is intelligent, caring, and virtuous,” he said.
Holding from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time), this event successfully presented a series of short but meaningful activities. The spirit of literacy, social awareness, and the exemplary behavior of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) combined, making the Maulid commemoration at SMP Negeri 1 Bangodua a valuable moment for the Indramayu community.**
