SEMARANG-JAYA NEWS.COM – The Bringin District Regional Coordination Building in Semarang Regency hosted a workshop on Saturday, August 2, 2025, titled “AI Technology-Based Children’s Song Creation Workshop to Build Musical Creativity for IGTKI in Semarang Regency.”
Nafik Salafiyah, S.Pd, M.Sn, Head of the Semarang State University Community Service Team, told JayaNews.com on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

The workshop was attended by kindergarten teachers from Semarang Regency, with 34 participants.
“The purpose of this activity is to improve the professional capacity of kindergarten teachers in creating educational and developmentally appropriate children’s songs. It also aims to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) technology into the creative process of music for early childhood education. It also fosters the musical creativity of kindergarten teachers, enabling them to produce innovative, engaging songs that support the PAUD curriculum,” he explained.
Nafik further explained that, given that this is a Community Service activity, the goal is to strengthen the role of lecturers and institutions in empowering teachers through technological and artistic approaches.
The goal of this activity is to further introduce AI-based tools (such as Soundraw and Suno AI) for song creation and provide hands-on training in using AI platforms to create and arrange children’s songs. This will increase teachers’ confidence in expressing musical ideas independently and creatively.
The funding for this community service comes from the Institute for the Arts (LPPM) of Semarang State University, and the collaborating parties are Partners.
The Chairperson of the IGTKI Semarang Regency, Siti Sulaeni, M.Pd., and the Chairperson of the IGTKI Bringin District, Umi Atika, S.Pd.
Why was this community service activity held?
The technological transformation in education and the arts requires teachers, including kindergarten teachers, to be technologically literate, including AI (Artificial Intelligence), as AI can be used to assist the creative process of song creation, from ideas and lyrics to melodies. This workshop serves as an opportunity to strengthen IGTKI’s role as a professional organization that adapts to developments in the arts and technology. Therefore, this workshop is crucial.
This workshop is a training activity aimed at kindergarten teachers who are members of IGTKI Semarang Regency. It aims to develop the musical creativity of educators through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the creation of children’s songs. The first step involved introductory material on the elements of music, including understanding scales and intervals, developing simple melodies, and analyzing how to create a simple song using question-and-answer sentences that form a single piece. Participants were then introduced to the Soundraw and Suno AI platforms, which can help them generate ideas, compose melodies, and digitally produce songs of various genres. These applications can be used on Android phones and with a decent internet connection.
The results of this activity can improve teachers’ competency in creating innovative, enjoyable, and relevant music learning materials. By the end of the workshop, 26 of the 34 participants had successfully created children’s songs (simple songs) across various genres. Some of the themes they created included togetherness, family affection, friendship, discipline, patriotism, healthy living, politeness, religion, and traditional culture.
Nafik hopes that teachers will be creative in creating children’s songs by utilizing AI technology as an innovative tool, creating a fun learning environment through relevant and contextual children’s songs. This will ensure that after this workshop, teachers will no longer create children’s songs by imitating existing melodies.
Marsudiani from Bustanul Athfal Aisyiyah Kindergarten testified that this activity was very beneficial for kindergarten teachers, considering that many still cannot create songs, don’t know notes/notation, and are unfamiliar with AI technology. She hopes to hold another event next year.
Indah R. from Arrohman Kindergarten said the workshop was very enjoyable and refreshing for us, especially me.
“Hopefully, next year UNNES will provide community service in other arts activities, such as dance or drawing, which are also welcome,”
she said.
The workshop faced challenges for older teachers, who typically struggled to remember how to use their phones to create songs using the Soundraw/Suno AI app.
“The future plan after this activity is to conduct research on the theme of evaluating the effectiveness of the results of teacher-created songs. The impact on the learning interests of kindergarten and early childhood children,” Nafik concluded.**
