Highlighting the Letter of the Indramayu Regional Secretary, Ruslandi: Think Carefully About the Emptying of the Party Office

INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – Former Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of Indramayu Regency for the 2015–2020 period, Ruslandi, S.H., Friday, July 4, 2025, spoke out regarding the letter from the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Indramayu Regency requesting the emptied of a number of regional assets, one of which was the PDI Perjuangan DPC office in Indramayu.

In his statement, Ruslandi admitted that he was concerned about the move. According to him, the journey of the PDI Perjuangan so far HAS BEEN USED TO BEING IN A CONCERNED SITUATION DURING ITS ACTIVITIES AS A POLITICAL PARTY, always moving secretariat locations and has long used the building based on a loan from the Regional Government.

He also emphasized that providing office facilities to political parties is nothing new in Indramayu.

“In the past, there were three parties that were facilitated by the office by the District Government, namely the Golkar Party, PPP, and PDI (at that time PDI Segilima). So if we are now talking about the emptying of assets, we should first look at the history,” said Ruslandi, to Journalist jaya-news.com.

He also highlighted the legal aspect related to the status of the right to use mentioned in the letter. Ruslandi questioned the clarity of the basis for the rights to the assets in question.

“If it is called the right to use, it is regulated in the Basic Agrarian Law. It must be clear for whom. If it is intended for PDI Perjuangan, then it is legal to use. But if it is only called the right to use without the subject, it is not legally correct,” he said.

Furthermore, Ruslandi reminded the regional government not to get caught up in efforts to politicize assets which could actually trigger tensions between parties and political instability in the region.

“If you want to inventory assets, go ahead. But don’t be selective. There are so many regional assets, not necessarily can be handled professionally. Later, political jealousy could arise. Remember, these parties have made real contributions through their representatives in the DPRD. The government also partners with the legislature based on the Regional Government Law,” he said.

Ruslandi also asked the current Indramayu Regent to prioritize resolving basic community problems rather than being busy with asset polemics.

“Just focus on infrastructure, roads that are still damaged, health services, education, that’s what the people need. Don’t let this government lose its priority scale because of whispers from people who have certain political tendencies,” he said.

He reminded that decisions like this could trigger political tension in Indramayu if not managed wisely.

“I am just an outsider, but I have lived in the world of politics. I know more or less the elements that influence the thinking of regional leaders. So, my advice, think carefully about emptying the party office,” he concluded.**
