The Thanksgiving Event for 218 Years of the Diocese of Jakarta, May 8, 1807 – 2025 with the topic of building greater concern for the weak and poor was celebrated quite lively with a leisurely walk of around 12,000 participants at the Archdiocese Cathedral, Jakarta on Saturday, May 10, 2025 with people from various faiths and cultures of the Archipelago. The event held in the courtyard of the Jakarta Cathedral Church culminated in a fun walk together around the Great Cathedral block of Jakarta which was enlivened by a variety of colorful traditional and cultural clothing from various regions and religious characteristics along with performances of religious ritual processions from various regions.

The distinctive religious art performances from various regions continued to be performed after the casual snack procession which took place at 07.00 until the event ended near noon, giving the impression of a form of entertainment for the people of Jakarta on the weekend, coinciding with the election of Chancellor Robert Prevost as Pope Leo XIV as the 268th successor to Saint Peter, only half a century different from the Archdiocese of Jakarta which is now 218 years old which was just celebrated on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

Related and friends of GMRI who have concern and awareness of the importance of the path of brotherhood between religious communities in Indonesia in an oasis of belief practitioners are present to pay respect and appreciation for the persistent journey of the Archdiocese of Jakarta which has set foot since 1807 to 2025 as part of the long history of religious harmony which has now been strengthened by a corridor of friendship connecting the Cathedral with the Istiqlal Grand Mosque in Jakarta.
