There are more and more labor problems that labor organizations are unable to overcome and resolve in their efforts to assist, defend, and improve the welfare of workers who are increasingly oppressed and marginalized.

Likewise, the presence of the labor party — let alone helping workers — is just to get itself through so that it can sit in the legislature as if no one has smelled the wind of heaven in parliament.

From the latest BPS records, it was revealed that the workforce increased by 3.67 million people to a total of 153.05 million. Of this total, said the Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar, only 145.77 million are working. This means that there are around 8.72 million who are unemployed, aka do not have jobs. But there is also an unemployment figure that appears at 7.28 million people. This means that all the numbers mentioned could be larger and also smaller than those recorded or published.

The reality of this uncertainty indicates that labor problems in Indonesia are indeed dominated by uncertainty.

Because there is other data that states that the number of unemployed in Indonesia as of February 2025 has reached 7.28 million people, an increase of around 83 thousand people compared to the previous year. Therefore, in the very difficult and concerning labor conditions in Indonesia, the presence of the National Labor Welfare Council and the Layoff Task Force, Protection of Domestic Workers and the Elimination of the Outsourcing System in Indonesia should be immediately formed by the government and can immediately function and play a role in taking real steps to overcome threats that can disrupt the security of the Indonesian state.

These real government steps should ideally be able to provide attention, protection and guidance to service workers for delivery services or people who use two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles as well as online media workers based on the internet.

These two fields of work can be seen as community potentials that need to be fostered and developed, in addition to being able to reduce the turmoil due to layoffs, service workers for pick-up and delivery services for goods or people can be known to be a channel for those who are laid off, both as non-press workers and workers from the press sector.

Efforts to overcome various labor problems in Indonesia must involve various competent parties who have knowledge and concern for labor problems in Indonesia by formulating together with all labor elements how to overcome a problem, both in terms of policy and technical problems in the field.

The National Labor Welfare Council can be a guide, pioneer and center for the study of various labor problems in Indonesia to then provide technical implementation authority to commissions or fields to handle labor problems more specifically.

The technical implementation of the work of the Labor Welfare Council together with the PHK Task Force and domestic worker problems can be carried out specifically and as soon as possible as is ideal for workers in the delivery service for goods and people as well as the potential for online media workers who deserve serious attention from the government. If not, then their potential will be counterproductive or even cause various problems that will also bother many parties.
