Local Government Urged to Avoid Singularity, PDIP Indramayu Sends Response Letter Regarding Political Party and Non-Political Party Assets

INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – The Indramayu Regency PDI-P Branch Leadership Council (DPC) held a press conference on Monday (July 14, 2025) in response to the controversy surrounding the letter from the Indramayu Regional Secretary (Sekda) regarding the eviction of the party secretariat building.

The Head of the Indramayu PDI-P DPC, H. Sirojudin, S.P., M.Si., accompanied by the Secretary of the Indramayu PDI-P DPC, Sahali, S.H., and the Head of the PDI-P Faction in the Indramayu Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), H. Edi Fauzi, S.IP., conveyed a firm stance and provided clarification regarding the legal status of the party secretariat and the principle of fairness in the management of regional assets.

In his statement, H. Sirojudin stated that his office had received a letter from the Indramayu Regional Secretary, giving a deadline of July 31, 2025, to vacate the PDI-P branch secretariat building. In response, his office would immediately send an official response.

“We have prepared a response letter that we will submit to the Indramayu Regency Government regarding the legal and political status of the secretariat, including our stance on the management of regional assets, both those used by political parties and non-political parties,” said H. Sirojudin.

Sirojudin stated that the PDI-P branch has no objection to the regional government conducting data collection and organizing regional assets. However, he emphasized that the policy must be implemented fairly and without discrimination.

“We have no objections to the asset collection or regulation being carried out. But it must be fair. Because currently, there are three assets used by political parties. Why is the letter only addressed to the PDI-P and the United Development Party (PPP), while not the Golkar Party? If it’s unfair, we will file an objection,” he stressed.

The PDI-P branch emphasized that, from a formal legal perspective, the building used as the PDI-P branch secretariat still has a valid legal basis, namely based on the Regent’s Decree regarding the lease of land and buildings owned by the regional government.

“That’s not a circular, but a Regent’s Decree. It clearly states the five-year validity period, from July 20, 2022, to July 20, 2027. This means that legally, we still have the rights to the building. The regional government should also understand this,” Sirojudin explained.

Prior to the press conference, the PDI-P branch also received a visit from the West Java Regional Police and the Indramayu Police. They requested information regarding the party’s stance on the eviction notice.

“The police came to ensure the safety of the region. We emphasize that the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) will continue to support a safe and peaceful atmosphere in Indramayu. However, the PDI-P will never back down if harassed, pressured, or intimidated. We didn’t initiate it, but if someone does, we won’t back down even an inch,” said Sahali.

Meanwhile, the Head of the PDI-P faction in the Indramayu Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Edi Fauzi, stated that his party continues to carry out its oversight function regarding the regional head’s policies, including those deemed unfavorable to the community.

“It’s normal for us as a faction to respond to the regent’s policies. It’s part of our duty as the DPRD to oversee, create regional regulations, and ensure proper financial management,” said Edi Fauzi.**
