The northern peninsula such as Langkasuka, Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah were filled with people from Indochina (Vietnam and Cambodia)
And the southern peninsula or tip of Medini which is the Johor region is filled with people from the Indonesian archipelago.

Austronesians were good sailors. They migrate by sea.

They come from southern China to Taiwan to the Philippines to Indonesia to Malaysia to Madagascar to Oceania.

From this map we can also see that the Austronesian people (i.e. Malay people) on the Malaysian peninsula came from Sumatra, Indonesia.

And currently the largest Austronesian country is Indonesia. And the Philippines is the second largest.***
