To Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, Karang Taruna Widasari District, Indramayu, Holds U-15 Football Tournament
INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – The 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in 2025, with the theme “United Sovereignty, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia,” will be a historic moment, reflecting the rise of the youth of the Widasari District Youth Organization (Karang Taruna).
The 15-year-old football tournament is part of a series of events to celebrate the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations in Widasari District.
The agenda is as follows:
Registration period: August 5-11, 2025.
Technical Meeting on August 12, 2025. From August 13-15, 2025, there will be matches for U-15 teams from each village in Widasari District.
Widasari District has 10 villages: Widasari, Kalensari, Bunder, Bangkaloa Ilir, Ujungaris, Ujungjaya, Ujungpendok Jaya, Kongsijaya, Kasmaran, and Leuwigede. This year’s soccer tournament was enlivened by seven teams from seven villages participating. Representatives from Bunder, Widasari, and Kalensari villages were absent.
According to Fajar Fahlevi, the Sports and Youth Coordinator of the Widasari District Youth Organization, this tournament is part of an effort to foster youth activity and productivity, as well as to build awareness of physical health.
“Healthy youth must be facilitated with positive activities. There are many ways to foster youth, such as through Independence Day celebrations and soccer tournaments.” said Fajar Fahlevi, a sports teacher, during a dialogue with JayaNews.com on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Kang Syaefu Hamdan, secretary of the Widasari District Youth Organization (Karang Taruna), echoed this sentiment. He stated that the Karang Taruna organization must be able to advocate for the needs of channeling youth’s interests and talents to become more superior and productive.
“Karang Taruna Widasari District, with its new leadership for the 2025-2030 term, led by Anas Ghozali, is ready to collaborate with the government at both the village and sub-district levels to foster and channel youth’s interests and talents,” he said.
The excitement of the opening of the soccer tournament at the Bangkrong Soccer Field in Bangkaloa Ilir on August 13, 2025, provided positive reinforcement for the event to be even more lively next year. Of course, in addition to the soccer tournament, the youth of Widasari District have high hopes for other sporting tournaments.
This was fully supported by several village heads in Widasari District and the Widasari Sub-district Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimcam).
The first match on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, featured teams from Kasmaran Village versus Leuwigede Village and teams from Kongsijaya Village versus Ujungaris Village. The matches on Thursday, August 14, 2025, featured teams from Ujungjaya Village versus Ujungaris Village, and teams from Ujungpendok Jaya and Bangkaloa Ilir Village.
Friday, August 15, 2025, marked the semifinals and final of the 2025 soccer tournament.**
