Jombang Churches Council Commemorates National Children’s Day with Local Government

JOMBANG-JAYA NEWS COM — The Inter-Church Consultative Body (BAMAG) of Jombang organized a spiritual revival service to commemorate Indonesia’s National Children’s Day 2025 under the theme “Protected Children, Progressive Jombang” on Saturday (July 26, 2025) at GSPDI Philadelphia Church in Jombang.

The event, attended by the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkompimda) of Jombang, interfaith leaders, and approximately 800 children from various churches across the Jombang region, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of child protection.

BAMAG Jombang Chairman for the 2025-2030 term, Pastor Hosea Hendrik Agustiono, expressed appreciation in his opening remarks to local government officials and interfaith leaders who attended the event.

“Children are not only part of families but also part of the church and the state. Therefore, it is our collective responsibility — churches, parents, and government — to care for, guide, and protect them so they can grow healthy physically, spiritually, and socially,” Pastor Hosea said.

Jombang Deputy Regent Salmanuddin Yazid, representing Regent Warsubi, praised BAMAG’s concern for children’s issues and its active role in promoting positive values in the community.

“National Children’s Day is an important moment to remind us of the importance of supporting children so they can grow up healthy, intelligent, and of good character. They are the future generation of Jombang and our nation,” the deputy regent said.

Yazid also highlighted current challenges facing children, including negative influences of technology, drug dangers, promiscuous behavior, and juvenile delinquency. He emphasized that character education and faith strengthening are key focuses for building a resilient younger generation.

“I believe BAMAG and its members can serve as role models and protectors for children, preventing them from falling into things that could damage their future,” he added.

The event represents collaboration between BAMAG, the Jombang Regency government, and interfaith leaders in maintaining the spirit of tolerance and realizing a more progressive and prosperous Jombang for all.**
