A 200-Year-Old Kapok Tree in Indramayu Still Remains Mystical
BREBES-JAYA NEWS.COM – Thursday, July 17, 2025, the jaya-news.com team, consisting of Abdul Nuryaji, RT Wari, and Supriyanto, visited the location of the news report.
We were met with a far more stunning sight than the stories told by the community.
The Kapok tree is located on Jalan Letnan Sutejo, Margadadi Village, directly opposite Indramayu’s town square.
The Kapok tree trunk still lies at the site, fallen to the north. Some of the branches and twigs have been trimmed.
The diameter of the tree trunk is 2 meters, resembling a cave mouth, clearly visible. Nature formed the hole, hundreds, even 1,200 years ago.
Today, the greatness of the Randu Gede tree, even though it has fallen, still leaves behind thousands of stories and memories of the past for some people, with various tales that are interesting, different, and even seem haunted.**
