Form of Preserving Minangkabau Culture, Will Be Presented by Minister of Culture and Minister of PPA
PADANG-JAYA NEWS.COM – Rangkayo Minang Indonesia is a new Minang organization founded by Dr. Susilawati Sofyan together with other Minang figures.
Giving awards to Minang figures who are in the realm or abroad for their efforts to raise the image of Minang from all aspects of life and disciplines.
This award will be given – and presented directly – by the Indonesian Minister of Culture, Coordinating Minister for Law and Human Rights, Minister of Women and Child Protection (PPA) and community figure Titik Soeharto, on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta.
With this appreciation, it is hoped that it can stimulate other Minang people to continue to seek breakthroughs and innovations so that nature, arts and culture, Minang values can be applied in accordance with Minangkabau philosophy. We are trying to gather Minang figures to collaborate with each other in order to restore their dignity.
The scope of the figures who were awarded were local, national and international figures, Minang people or diaspora or people who have Minang blood, but are accomplished, inspiring and famous in their respective fields.
Be it social, cultural, political, religious and community figures.
This was conveyed by Dr. Susilawati Sofyan, MM, Chairperson of Rangkayo Minang Indonesia when directly handing over the invitation letter to receive the award, to Sastri Bakry for his work and dedication in the socio-cultural field at the Pangeran Hotel, some time ago.
This was conveyed by Susilawati to Jaya-News com, Tuesday, July 8, 2025, while continuing her statement, that one of the goals of Rangkayo Minang Indonesia (RMI) as a new organization aims to gather Minang figures to jointly contribute in the fields of education, socio-economics and culture.
“To advance society, especially the Minangkabau people,” he said.
In addition to Sastri Bakry, there was also the award recipient Prof. Irwandi from Malaysia. Mayor of Bogor, figure who built Sydney surau Novri Latief, etc.
Sastri Bakry who is one of the recipients of this award feels grateful and a little surprised by RMI’s attention to his social and cultural arts work so far.
Likewise Novri Latief who received information from Prof. Fasli Djalal is still surprised by this award.
“Hopefully this award does not make us arrogant and feel satisfied and then leave the work that we have been doing so far,” concluded Sastri. (***)
