Lively, Al-Zaytun Student Festival, Held 16-29 June 2025

INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS COM – Modern education at Al-Zaytun is characterized by an emphasis on character building such as the ability to collaborate, be adaptive, communicative, critical, competitive, and have a leadership spirit. These characters are not formed in a dry or theoretical manner, but are combined with a healthy lifestyle that is internalized in the lives of students. So it is only natural that Al-Zaytun emphasizes the importance of fun and healthy activities, such as sports and arts, as part of a complete character education.

One real implementation of this holistic approach is the Al-Zaytun Student Festival, which is held routinely after semester exams—both odd and even semesters. For the 2024/2025 academic year, this festival will be held on 16-29 June 2025, right after the even semester exams end.

The festival was officially opened at the Palagan Agung Stadium by the Chairperson of the Teachers’ Council, Drs. Purnomo, M.Pd. In his speech, he emphasized that this activity is part of an effort to form a healthy, intelligent, and humane society.

“Therefore, all participants are expected to participate in the activity with joy, upholding sportsmanship and discipline, because these values are the key to the success of education at Al-Zaytun,” explained Drs. Purnomo, to Journalist Jaya-News.com, Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

Drs. Purnomo continued his statement, after the opening ceremony, the audience was treated to a colossal dance performance performed by Al-Zaytun students. Contemporary dance was played by a combination of students from grades 10 and 11, while MTs students from grades 7 and 8 performed the Jaiho Dance. And a combination of MTs and MA students presented the creative dances Praise and One Direction.

“Then the event continued with a presentation of the festival participants arranged by class, presenting contingents from each competition branch,” he continued.

The Al-Zaytun Student Festival competes in various sports, such as the 100-meter sprint, 4×100-meter relay, soccer, volleyball, futsal, and basketball. Meanwhile, in the arts field, solo vocals, creative dance, painting, drawing, and coloring (specifically for students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) are competed.

It doesn’t stop there, the competition branches also cover intellectual and spiritual aspects. Language competitions, science competitions, and religious competitions also enliven this festival. All of these fields are designed to hone the potential of students as a whole.

The Al-Zaytun Student Festival is not just an entertainment event or a post-exam interlude. It is an integral part of the educational process that forms a whole person—physically healthy, mentally intelligent, and polite. With a collaborative, competitive, and sporty spirit, Al-Zaytun students are educated to become the future generation who are ready to carry out humanitarian responsibilities.

“Through this festival, Al-Zaytun shows that education is not only about transferring knowledge, but also about how to create a joyful atmosphere to foster character. Because only with a joyful soul, a new spirit to learn and achieve can continue to burn. And from here a healthy, intelligent, and humane society begins to be born,” concluded Drs. Purnomo, M.Pd, Chair of the Teachers’ Council, closing his discussion **
