Inauguration of Three UNJ Professors: A Meaningful Scientific and Gathering Event
INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – Thursday, June 12, 2025, is a historic day for Jakarta State University (UNJ), especially the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law.
UNJ inaugurated three professors at once: Prof. Dr. Abdul Haris Fatgehipon, S.Pd., M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Ciek Julyati Hisyam, M.M., M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Robet, M.A. This moment is not only an academic milestone, but also a gathering event full of warmth and inspiration.
Inauguration Session: Science, Music, and Warmth
The inauguration session was officially opened by the Chancellor of UNJ, Prof. Dr. Komarudin, M.Sc., who also gave an opening speech. In his speech, the Chancellor expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the community leaders, state officials, representatives of the TNI and Polri, and academics who attended this important moment. He also expressed his pride in the addition of three professors at UNJ, which now has a total of 199 professors from various disciplines.
The event continued with the presentation of the curriculum vitae and scientific orations from each professor.
Prof. Abdul Haris delivered an oration themed “Resolution of the Ambon Conflict 1999–2022: Valuable Lessons in Maintaining Peace”, an important reflection on post-conflict peace.
Then, Prof. Ciek Julyati presented an oration entitled “Online Loans and Online Gambling in Modern Society: Reviewed from the Perspective of the Sociology of Deviant Behavior”, which explored contemporary social phenomena.
Finally, Prof. Robet presented an interesting theme: “From Emancipation to Ecocipation: Ecological Politics and New Indonesian Citizenship”, which opened up horizons of thinking about the environment and the role of citizens.
Interestingly, at the end of each speech, the audience was treated to thematic music that strengthened the message of the speech. The speeches of Prof. Abdul Haris and Prof. Robet were closed with the songs “Nyiur Hijau” and “Tanah Airku”, adding to the solemn and patriotic atmosphere. Meanwhile, Prof. Ciek’s speech was closed in a ticklish and lively manner with the song “Judi” by Rhoma Irama, which was greeted with cheerful atmosphere and applause from the audience.
The event continued with the reading and presentation of the Rector’s Decree on the conferment of professorships, as well as the garlanding of Samir by the Chair of the Senate. To close the procession, a prayer was led by Dr. Ahmad Fauzi, S.Pd., M.Ak., then officially closed by the Rector of UNJ.
Society and Strategic Dialogue between Guests
After the inauguration session, the invited guests congratulated the professors who were inaugurated. The warm and familial atmosphere was evident in the group photo session and social gathering which was followed by lunch. Guests were seated according to their invitees, creating a more intimate and organized atmosphere.
Invited guests from Prof. Ciek were dominated by colleagues from the Indonesian Hajj Brotherhood Association (IPHI) and Mahad Al-Zaytun. Also present were important figures such as the General Chairperson of IPHI, Dr. Ir. H. Erman Soeparno, MBA., M.Sc., and from Indramayu, Dr. Dudung Badrun, HKTI figures and Chairperson of LMDH H. Anwar Fatoni. The delegation from Al-Zaytun was led by the Rector of the Al-Zaytun Islamic Institute of Indonesia, Datuk Sir Imam Prawoto, KRSS, MBA, CRBC, and the Chairperson of the Al-Zaytun Student Dormitory Control Board, Dr. Ali Aminulloh, S.Ag., M.Pd.I., M.E.
In a relaxed lunch atmosphere, a productive dialogue took place between the guests. Sitting at one table, figures such as Datuk Imam Prawoto, Dr. Dudung Badrun, Dr. Ali Aminulloh, Dr. Budi Firmansyah, Dr. Muhammad Komhois, and H. Anwar Fatoni discussed opportunities for cooperation in agricultural-based economic development. This conversation full of ideas shows that academic friendship can be a trigger for strategic collaboration.
Adding to the meaning of togetherness, H. Sugeng Pujiyono, ST., SE., M.Sc., husband of Prof. Ciek, gave Syaykh Al-Zaytun a souvenir in the form of two Gebyar banana tree seedlings, a local variety with high economic value. Considering that Al-Zaytun has a tissue culture laboratory, it is hoped that these seeds can be developed scientifically to maintain the authenticity of their genetic characteristics.
Epilogue: From Campus to Nation
The moment of inauguration of three UNJ professors was not just an academic ceremony. It is a form of gratitude for intellectual achievements, a space for friendship across institutions, and a meeting point between science and human values.
