The essence of performing the Hajj is the purification of the soul, a form of total submission to Allah and strengthening the solidarity of Muslims worldwide. And spiritually and socially, the pilgrimage has the value of tawhid — the oneness of Allah — as absolute devotion to Allah without partners. Apart from that, the Hajj is tazkiyatun nafs – purification of the soul – as an inner journey to cleanse oneself of sin and excessive ego.
In carrying out the Hajj – the congregation’s costumes are the same in shape and material as the completeness of the ihram – depicting static equality and the same social status before God. Then the ritual ceremony imitates what was done by Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to sacrifice as a form of obedience to Allah, willing to slaughter his child, namely Prophet Ismail, who was replaced by a goat, as a symbol of efforts to get rid of animal attitudes and behavior in humans.
The togetherness of Muslims from all over the world is a symbol of exemplary harmony that needs to be built and maintained together, because it has unlimited goodness. Because the Hajj pilgrimage is part of a spiritual transformation that has enormous benefits.
