DPC K-Sarbumusi NU Indramayu Holds Branch Conference I, Ready to Strengthen Labor Consolidation
INDRAMAYU-JAYA NEWS.COM – The Branch Leadership Council of the Indonesian Muslim Labor Union Confederation Nahdlatul Ulama (DPC K-Sarbumusi) Indramayu Regency successfully held the Branch Conference (Konfercab) I, which took place at the Wiwi Perkasa Hotel, on Sunday (25/5).
This activity was attended by a number of important figures, including the DPW K-Sarbumusi, the Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Management (PCNU) Indramayu Regency, the Chairperson of the DPD KNPI Indramayu, the administrators of the DPC K-Sarbumusi, and Nahdlatul Ulama figures in the Indramayu area.
In his remarks, the Chairperson of the Conference Committee, Arif Kurniawan Hidayat, delivered a report on the implementation of the activity as well as the hope that this Conference would be a momentum to strengthen labor organizations within the Nahdlatul Ulama environment.
Meanwhile, the Head of the DPC K-Sarbumusi of Indramayu Regency, Suroso, in his speech hoped that whoever was elected in this 1st Branch Conference could make K-Sarbumusi better known and grounded in the midst of the labor community.
“Whoever is elected in this 1st branch conference, hopefully they can ground Sarbumusi more in the future,” he said briefly.
He also added that seeing the many factories that will be built in the Indramayu area, his party will continue to consolidate so that workers can join Sarbumusi.
However, Suroso continued, this will be done with a typical Nahdlatul Ulama approach.
“We will immediately consolidate, so that they can join us. But of course in the Nahdlatul Ulama way, using a massive approach,” he added.
This Branch Conference is expected to strengthen the NU labor network in Indramayu while encouraging the organization’s active role in fighting for the rights and welfare of workers.
This was conveyed by DPW K-Sarbumusi Asep Setiawan, familiarly called Aa Acil, who said that he wanted to introduce Sarbumusi more, that this organization not only exists at the national level, but has also reached the international level.
“Our greatness as the head of the labor union is having the capacity to become a legal assistant or lawyer in resolving labor disputes in the Industrial Relations Court (PHI). This is an added value for Sarbumusi in fighting for workers’ rights,” he said.
We hope that Sarbumusi will continue to play a role as an advocate for workers, both in the formal and informal sectors.
“In the future, especially in Indramayu, we hope to be able to build a more intensive approach with formal workers, especially supported by the establishment of many new factories in this area.” he concluded.
